This appeal is from the denial of Peter Shoens petition for post-conviction relief. Shoen was convicted of first-degree premeditated murder and sentenced to life imprisonment for the March 1, 1996, murder of his wife, Kimberly Shoen. On direct appeal, Shoen argued that he was deprived of his constitutional right to a fair trial because he was forced to wear a leg restraint throughout the trial. Shoen also raised a number of other issues by way of a supplemental pro se brief.
